FAQ

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

THESE ARE SOME FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS PRESENTED TO US BY PROSPECTIVE CLIENTS WHO ARE CONSIDERING INSTALLING GRANITE SURFACES IN THEIR HOMES  –

WHY SHOULD I CHOOSE ACTUAL GRANITE OVER SYNTHETIC SURFACES MADE TO RESEMBLE NATURAL STONE?
The natural material is immeasurably more durable and resistant than any man-made substance, but it can be custom-designed and cut to fit into any size, shape and configuration that your kitchen or bathroom would require – its natural beauty and variety of colours and patterns simply cannot be replicated in synthetic imitations.

ISN’T GRANITE AN EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE MATERIAL THAT WILL GREATLY INCREASE THE COST OF MY HOME RENOVATION?
While it is true that granite or other natural stones are more expensive to install than synthetic options, it is important to consider that in the long term these natural materials are actually the economically sensible option. This is because they are so durable and resilient, to extremes of temperature and possible accidents, and so simple to maintain, that once the original investment has been made you will be able to enjoy your surfaces for an indefinite period, instead of having to deal with countertops and units that look worn and shabby after just a few years.

IS GRANITE SUSCEPTIBLE TO STAINING AND CHIPPING IN THE KITCHEN?
A reputable company like ours would only install properly sealed granite slabs, and once this is achieved all that needs to be done is light cleaning with ordinary dishwashing liquid and water. If stains do occur, they can be removed from adequately sealed granite with a little powdered cleaner. Granite can be chipped if something is dropped on it, but if this should occur chips can be simply repaired with epoxy filler and stone dust.
